Johnson City Board of Education seeks community stakeholders to serve on 5-year plan subcommittees

Subcommittee Interest Form

The Johnson City Board of Education is embarking on the development of the most recent 5-year plan by establishing subcommittees to formulate strategies and objectives for their district goals. This plan will serve as a guiding document for the Board and the district over the next five years.  The Board is seeking community participation and requests people who are interested in serving on a subcommittee complete an interest form for consideration.

“These subcommittees play a vital role in helping our board and district shape the future of our schools,” Johnson City Board of Education Chair Kathy Hall said. “We look forward to fully engaging parents, students, teachers, administrators and community members in our planning process to help create meaningful conversations and push our district forward.”

The newest 5-year plan goals will be considered by the board for final approval in December, but tentative areas include achievement, human resources, wellness and safety, community engagement and infrastructure.

The subcommittees will meet no more than five times between January and February, so it is important that subcommittee members are able to commit time in their calendars for these meetings. Completing an interest form does not guarantee selection for a subcommittee, as there are a limited number of seats available on each subcommittee.

The form will be removed at 3 p.m. on Monday, December 20. To fill out the form, please visit www.jcschools.org/subcommittee.
